about

I wrote this track in 1984 and re-recorded/mixed it in 2011/2012. It's a fairly laid-back track that rejects war/carelessness and promotes love and peace as a means of getting on with each other. Amazingly the world hasn't tried that (globally) and, in the long term, violence won’t make society find a heart; a peaceful, spiritual, love revolution is the only way!

I intend to include an acoustic version of this track on a near-future all-acoustic, album.

lyrics

No reason to be a hero
There is no bloody fight
Turn aggression down to zero
Live love day and night

No reason to run away
There is a better way
So give the children a say
For their lives may not be waste

Refrain:

Nightly rituals go on
As I try to catch forty winks
But before the rise of the sun
My weary heart it sinks

Accidents will happen
Are you friend or are you foe
Keep those (filthy) fingers of the button
Or the future we'll never know

Repeat Refrain

You know, thirsty people need water
The hungry must have food
The rhythm of life is our daughter
Polluted rivers; they're our blood

No reason to be a hero
No reason at all
For the bigger, yes, the bigger they come, you know
The harder, the harder they fall

And nightly rituals go on
As I try to catch forty winks
But before the rise of the sun
My weary heart it sings, yeah, sings

about

JJ's Blues Project Birmingham, UK

JJ’s Blues Project: is an on-going, solo, blues-based concept that began on tape in 1998 (digital 2001). This is a sample of my work; I play all instruments and sing my own lyrics (I also created the artwork). All albums are recorded, mixed & mastered by me; away from my job as guitar, bass, keyboard, drum tutor and producer etc. Thanks for listening/ downloading. JJ. ... more
