about

Written in 1985 and re-recorded in early 2012, this song was inspired by a friend who complained about everything, all of the time!
It's a song of hope and optimism. Things are/can be bad, but count your 'lucky-stars' and hope for better. What you miss you'll never have!

lyrics

You may be from the East, or from the West
Be in Africa, starving to death
Or you might be in jail for a crime you didn't do
Or on a ship without a captain or crew

Could it be worse (though you feel so sad)
Could it be worse (though it's driving you mad)
Could it be worse (though you're feeling so bad)
It could be worse, what you miss you'll never have

You might be the leader of a nuclear power
In the middle of the third world war, or
You could be thirsty, without a drop to drink
Like a pen without any ink; useless!

Could it be worse (though you're feeling so bad)
Could it be worse (though it's driving you mad)
Could it be worse (though you feel so sad)
It could be worse, what you miss you'll never have

You may be a supervisor givin' out those cheques
Or in the queue, waiting with the rest
You might be running from the agents of evil
Or be the addict at the end of the needle

Could it be worse (though you feel so sad)
Could it be worse (though it's driving you mad)
Could it be worse (though you're feeling so bad)
It could be worse, what you miss you'll never have

Well, you may be fighting for your freedom in France
Be on the front line, without a chance, or
You may slave in a factory in the heat of the summer
Be the pilot of a war-plane, even the gunner!

Could it be worse (though you feel so sad)
Could it be worse (though it's driving you mad)
Could it be worse (though you're feeling so bad)
It could be worse, what you miss you'll never have

You'll never have

about

JJ's Blues Project Birmingham, UK

JJ’s Blues Project: is an on-going, solo, blues-based concept that began on tape in 1998 (digital 2001). This is a sample of my work; I play all instruments and sing my own lyrics (I also created the artwork). All albums are recorded, mixed & mastered by me; away from my job as guitar, bass, keyboard, drum tutor and producer etc. Thanks for listening/ downloading. JJ. ... more
